My sister, Ducky, is visiting us for a whole week, and we’re all pretty happy she’s here. It’s been two or maybe three years since we last got together…far too long.
Two hours after her flight touched down – after lunch and a stop at the bookstore – we found ourselves in the hat aisle at Target, laughing our heads off. Wheezing, can’t-breathe laughter that had us both crossing our legs (or else). Which made us laugh even harder.
It all started when she tried on a hat with ear flaps and strings that tied under her chin.
Trust me when I tell you that she was channeling something between Sherlock Holmes and Larry of Larry, Darryl and Darryl. But with long wavy hair and little glasses. (If you’re under 30, you might need to click on that last link.)
Aunt Ducky brought the first season of Doctor Who so she could introduce the kids to a favorite show (they love it so far). And for the the last couple of hours, she’s been busy making balloon animals for The Girl and teaching The Boy how to juggle.
